World Cup Cricket 2011
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 takes place this season in Asia, from February 19 to April 2. This Wednesday, England and Ireland face each other on field for another exciting match of the game. Up to know, considering today’s game, 10 matches have been played and one was a Tour Match. The 10th World Cup is being hosted by Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The competition will be between 14 national cricket teams.

All the 14 nations are divided into 10 full members and four Associate members. The full members are: Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. The Associate members are: Canada, Ireland, Kenya and Netherlands.
On the opening day, South Africa beat the West Indies by 7 wickets. The second championship day had two ICC matches, when Bangladesh won over Ireland by 27 runs, and Australia beat New Zealand by 7 wickets, and one Tour Match. On the following day Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 11 runs. The first tie of the championship happened on the fourth day on the match between India and England.
Two matches were played on the 28th, when Zimbabwe beat Canada by 175 runs and West Indies beat the Netherlands by 215 runs. The last score that has been recorded was of the game when Sri Lanka won over Kenya by 9 wickets.
All the teams are composed of 11 players. Each match is arranged with two teams on the field which take turns to be batters and bowlers. A run is scored when the opposing team is in the position of batter and the aim is to hit the ball around the field. A wicket is taken when the ball hits the stumps which are positioned at an end of a 22-yard area, which itself is called a wicket.
