Who Won the Oscars 2011
On the 83rd Annual Academy Awards of the Oscars, 24 golden statues were distributed among the winners of the night. The event was hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco, who amused the audience with grace and a parody of the classic Gone with the Wind. The great winner of this year was the film The King’s Speech, which earned four Oscars in the categories: Best Picture, Actor in a Leading Role, Directing and Writing (Original Screenplay).
The second motion which whent home with the most awards was Inception, for the categories Cinematography, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects. In third place came the production The Social Network, with the prizes for Film Editing, Music (Original Score) and Writing (Adapted Screenplay).
After the leading movies, other three titles won two nominations each. The Fighter had both Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role, for Christian Bale and Melissa Leo. The animation Toy Story 3 conquered the categories Animated Feature Film and Music (Original Song). Finally, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland won Art Direction and Costume Design.
Between the most popular films to win nominations, Black Swan didn’t make up to the expectations and got only the categorie for Actress in a Leading Role, for Natalie Portman. Inside Job, by Charles Ferguson and Audrey Marrs, got the Documentary (Feature) prize and Strangers No More, by Karen Goodman and Kirk Simon, the Documentary (Short Subject).
The winner for the Foreign Language Film was In a Better World, from Denmark. For best Makeup, The Wolfman, by Rick Baker and Dave Elsey, got the nomination. And, last but not least, in the categories Short Film, The Lost Thing, by Shaun Tan and Andrew Ruhemann, won the Animates while God of Love, by Luke Matheny, won the Live Action.
