Royal Wedding Coverage Shows First Kisses
After several weeks of speculation, the day finally arrived when Prince William and Kate Middleton will have their own royal wedding. Questions about clothes, the weather, the family, and everything else which is included in the package will be answered today. Even though the monarchic reality might not feel as important to all those who do not have royal families anymore, the United Kingdom still has the Queen as head of State.
In Memory Of Lady Di
Reporters and journalists were in position since 5a.m. (local time) to cover every detail of the royal wedding. Some say that the main reason for such expectations is that William is the son of Lady Diana, who died in a car accident. She was famous for her innovative fashion style and concerns with humanitarian causes, which inspired several women around the world.
Until today, Lady Di is remembered as the Princess of the People since her marriage in 1981 to Prince Charles. In 1996 they decided to get a divorce, after several scandals involving Charles and his new wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, and of Diana herself. As the British people had to deal with the grief of losing a popular Princess and accepting Charles’ wife, the hope is that William will become King and bring back his mother’s governance traits.
The Official Wedding Kiss
As the previous royal wedding was over 30 years ago, the event is almost a unique lifetime experience. One of the most expected moments of the whole celebration is the traditional bride and groom’s kiss in the balcony of Buckingham Palace. To praise even more the public watching the wedding ceremony, William and Kate gave two public kisses.
Unfortunately, not everyone who was at the surroundings of the wedding path had good intentions. Up to now, 18 people have already been arrested for different reasons, which include breach of peace, assault, handling stolen goods and possession of an offensive weapon. In order to avoid bigger problems, the organization of the wedding built a fence that goes around Westminster Abbey.
