Ricky Rubio finally with wolves

After two years negotiating a deal that would make the basketball player Ricky Rubio become a NBA Minnesota Timberwolves member, the contract was finally signed and official by both parts. Rubio was drafted by the Wolves back in 2009 and was supposed to have closed a deal with the team at that time. However, the player gave up and ended with the FC Barcelona.

Young Rising

In 2009 Rubio was only 18 years old. As he was drafted at that time by NBA, that made him the first player born in the 90′s to be wanted by the team within the institution. Besides the involvement with the NBA, Rubio was also the youngest to play in the Spanish ACB League, as he was 14 when he began.

Some say that the fact that he did not agree with playing for the Wolves two years ago was probably the best decision, when looked at it today. For being so young, maybe the responsibility and the pressure would cause the contrary effect that people expected. Now that he is more mature and experienced it might be better to have him on the team.

Recognition From Colleagues

During his career, Rubio managed to conquer his teammates respect and coaches compliments. An also Spaniard player and a Lakers forward, Pau Gasol said “He’s a special player and a very good point guard. Very unselfish. He’s got great size, great length. He knows how to play the game very well. He’s got a great feel for the game. He’s just a guy that will get the team going and do what he needs to do.”

Coach for the Dukes during last year’s season, Mike Krzyzewski said “He’s gotten bigger and he plays outstanding defense, and because he’s a pass-first guard — he’s going to be liked by everybody who plays with him.” Another factor that made Rubio extremely popular in Europe is, as a matter of fact, his good looks. For being young, Rubio still has a baby face and good style.
