Project runway winner is Anya Ayoung-Chee

The 9th season of Lifetime’s Project Runway has announced the new winner of the fashion reality show contest. Against all probable odds, Anya Ayoung-Chee came out of the television program as the owner of the $100,000 prize and $50,000 technology suite, besides the spread sheet on Marie Claire and the chance to sell and design a collection on Piperlime dot com.

Final Victory

It is always good to remember that Anya learned how to sow only four months before being chosen to be part of Project Runway. Throughout the entire program she proved that creativity can be more powerful than skills. Along several other contestants that had years of experience, Anya earned the final victory for being different and seeing things in her own perspective.

Once nominated the winner of Project Runway, Anya said “it’s a turning point in my life that I’ll never, ever, ever be able to forget.” After thanking the entire panel of judges that considered her the best between all four final contestants, Anya made sure to thank Heidi Klum specifically for her guidance and praise through the entire program. The final episode was aired on Thursday (27).

Original Contestants

The designers that originally made part of the initial group were: nthony Ryan Auld, Anya Ayoung-Chee, Becky Ross, Bert Keeter, Bryce Black, Cecilia Motwani, Danielle Everine, Fallene Wells, Joshua McKinley, Joshua Christensen, Julie Tierney, Kimberly Goldson, Laura Kathleen, Olivier Green, Rafael Cox, and Viktor Luna. The final three that were alongside Anya were: Joshua McKinley, Viktor Luna, and Kimberly Goldson.

What earned Anya the victory was the collection designed from a $500 budget and a two-day deadline. Her differential was thinking of a flowy tropical look style. Now expectations are over Project Accessory, which is supposed to air straight after Project Runway. 12 contestants were chosen to design the most beautiful accessories with the help of Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti.
