PGA Championship has players under hot weather

Only a few hours away from the PGA Championship, which will take place in Atlanta Athletic Club on Thursday (11), some of the pros are already talking about expectations over the tournament. Especially because this summer has struck with increased temperatures, enough to make people pass out and even die because of the consequences, the weather conditions foreseen for the PGA are also an important topic for the golfers.
“Cool” Forecast
One who does not see a problem in competing under a 90 degrees forecast is Bo Van Pelt. The reason why the high temperature is not much of a problem is because the player is used to training under a 112 degrees day. As is homeland is Tulsa, in the Oklahoma state, Van Pelt actually considers that the climate will be relatively cool compared to what he normally faces on a daily basis.
During an interview, Van Pelt mentioned “I’m gaining 20 degrees [of comfort] by coming here, so I feel pretty good. hat was probably the best preparation I could have had.” According to the weather forecast for Thursday, date set for the opening round, the expectation is that golfers will play under 94 degrees. Even though the temperature is supposed to get back to 90 by the weekend, not all players are as confident as Van Pelt about the weather conditions.
Prejudicial Situation
Among the golfers who do not feel that the forecast shows positive signs, Adam Scott admits that it is not very comfortable to play in such conditions. However, he also states that all of them will have to play for a period of 5 and ½ hours and they are just going to have to deal with the unpleasant temperature.
On the other hand, some players believe that the practice under unfavourable conditions should have been done while they had time to prepare. It is a common tradition in football to send players off to the regions where next matches are scheduled in order to get used to different altitudes, weather conditions, and other situations.
