Peyton Hillis is Madden’s Next Cover-Boy
One of the American’s favorite sports to watch and play is American football, which consists of a team of players that has to work together through game tactics to manage to run across the field or throw the ball at a certain distance, and score points. The team that manages to score most points wins the match and the best player keeps most of the credits.
The Voting Process
Cleveland Browns player, Peyton Hillis, who also participates in the National Football League (NFL) has just been the most voted to earn the game Madden 12 cover on the 2011 edition. The voting process had its opening round on March21, which lasted until the 28th, and the second round goes from that date until April 4.
Once the preliminary results were obtained, the third round continued in April between the 4th and the 11th. In sequence, the semifinals took place from the 11th until the 18th. At last the final voting happened between the days 18 and 27. When the final votes were registered, according to the time set by the game’s organizers, Hillis was elected the cover-player.
Facts and Tales On The Madden Cover
The finals of the Madden 12 cover were disputed between Hillis and Michael Vick, a Philadelphia player. While Vick finished the competition with 34% of the total votes, Hillis conquered 66% of people’s preference to represent the NFL players on Madden 12’s cover. The total votes directed to both players were of 1,093,320 and the whole campaign had over 12,000,000.
When he first heard about the results, Hillis said that this is the ‘American Dream’. Besides his personal accomplishment, Hillis is the youngest player to make it to the Madden 12 cover, at the age of 25. The only problem is that the Madden cover is known for leaving its representatives inactive on the season following the honor. A marketing director for the game, Chris Erb, said “I haven’t told this to people, but I’ve got a bottle of champagne in my office that we’re ready to pop once someone breaks the curse.”
