From May 4 until June 11, Kentucky Derby 2011 takes place at the Churchill Downs, in Louisville. As the Kentucky Derby is a traditional event held every year since 1875, some traditions remain until the most recent editions of the event. One of them is the dress code, which only accepts certain garments. An example is the refusal of denim, jeans, shorts and tennis shoes at the event. According to which place the viewer will attend a different dressing code is established for that zone.

Also, another restriction at the Kentucky Derby is which items will be taken to the Churchill Down. People are allowed to carry baby bags, binoculars, cameras, blankets, cell phones, purses, and others. On the other hand, it is prohibited to enter the event with alcoholic beverages, briefcases, coolers, grills, umbrellas, and others.
