Kate Middleton’s wedding dress accepted by viewers

The wedding itself might be considered the most important fact of a wedding day, but what will be used for comparison between the future royal weddings and as a reference to other brides is the bride’s gown. Some might not understand the importance of the fashion involved in the production of the dress, but it is one of the most expected elements of the date.

Secret Revealed

As Kate Middleton could not reveal any details on what her dress would be like, or by whom it would be designed, the moment when she left on the Queen’s 1977 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI all eyes were on her and were trying to get as much information as possible. What was obvious is that Kate’s wedding gown is going to make history as one of the most beautiful ever worn on a royal wedding.

A consequence of finally showing her dress is that now Kate’s gown is going through several comparisons with others that were previously worn by other brides. One of them is, of course, Lady Di’s, as some even expected Kate to be inspired by William’s late mother as a way to honor the mother-in-law she never met. But now it is obvious that Kate decided to follow her own taste and create a totally different gown.

Typical English Design

A more probable comparison was made with Grace Kelly’s wedding dress. Some traits alike are the long sleeves, the lace, waist-cinching bodices and voluminous skirts. Apart from the similarities, Kate decided to show off some of her skin, as the bride allowed a deep V-neck, while Kelly’s dress is totally closed up. Kate’s dress’ train is two meters and 70 centimeters long.

Kate chose Sarah Burton as her dress designer, who works for Alexander McQueen. Editor of Vogue European, Hamish Bowles said “I think it’s magnificent.
