Islamabad With High Security Measures
Since the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center one of the main questions that the American government carried through each year was where Osama Bin Laden could be. The Arab is known for being the leader of the Al-Qaeda organization, which was responsible for the thousands of deaths that happened ten years ago.
The city Bin Laden chose
On the night of May 1, American president Barack Obama officially announced to have found and killed Bin Laden. Finally, his whereabouts where confirmed, targeted and conquered. Bin Laden was hiding in the city of Islamabad, capital of Pakistan. Contrary to what former president George Bush believed in, Bin Laden was hiding in a mansion, and not in a cave.
Once the death was confirmed, security measures were increased around the US Embassy in the country and on all of the diplomatic area. To avoid other sorts of concerns, the American school in the city will also be closed. Worries come from a possible reaction to the murder of the leader of one of the most dangerous organizations.
Remaining doubts
As the place where Bin Laden was welcomed to stay is considered a high security building and evidently planned to hide someone of great importance, some believe that the Pakistani government knew where Bin Laden was and covered up his hideout. Also, the region where Bin Laden chose to hide was surrounded by the presence of military, officials, police, locals, and all sorts of representatives.
A Taliban spokesman, Ahsanullah Ahsan, said “Let me make it very clear that we will avenge the martyrdom of Osama bin Laden, and we will do it by carrying out attacks in Pakistan and America. We will teach them an exemplary lesson”. As if this kind of reaction was predictable, American president Barack Obama said in his statement that America will continue with its security measures and will be even more alert.
