Donovan McNabb set to be a Viking

Former quarterback for the Washington Redskins, Donovan McNabb is now officially a Minnesota Vikings player. The deal to transfer McNabb to the Vikings took longer than expected, as he had to agree on receiveing a lower salary than the one he was used to from the Redskins. However, McNabb has to acknowledge that his age does not help him keep up his own price.

Contract Dilema

Before agreeing on signing a contract with the Vikings, McNabb said that he was unsatisfied with the way his new team dealt with the transition. As he is still not used to not being one of the most wanted players, McNabb was expecting a higher stake over his participation in competitions where can rise the team´s name.

Looking back on how the negotiations were conducted since last year´s season, specialists believe that the Redskins should have sent McNabb to the Vikings a long time ago. However, the Vikings were stuck with Brett Favre, who complicated everyone´s lives as both teams were unable to make any changes amongst their professional players.

On The Road

In order to accomplish the status he has today that guarantees contracts and high salaries, McNabb started off as a Philadelphia Eagles player back in 1999. From then until 2009, period long enough to complete a decade, McNabb was an Eagle player. After his work for his first team, McNabb continued on to the Washington Redskins, the same team which negotiated his contract with the Minnesota Vikings.

As the sports profession is something related to the person´s physical abilities, McNabb´s age is, indeed, a matter that influences his value. Especially for not being a rookie, McNabb has been through injuries and already has his own “style”, which can be praised or criticized by whoever has been following his steps since the beginning of his career.
