Coldplay involved in two situations
With so many political and social conflicts going on in specific regions of the world, people who have means of showing support for a cause can gather as many other supporters as opponents to an opinion. The most recent famous group which decided to stand up for something was Coldplay, concerning the Palestinian and Israeli conflicts.
Polemics Over A Conflict
As Coldplay has its own Facebook profile on the internet, they used that channel to post a link in favor of the Palestinian freedom. However, at the same time when people who have Coldplay’s profile on Facebook left messages in favor of the decision, others wrote how offended they are with the statement.
What is available on the Coldplay profile is “Some of our friends are involved in OneWorld’s new ‘Freedom for Palestine’ single – you can find out more at: www.waronwant.org/freedomoneworld.” Up to now, over 6.380 people have ‘liked’ the post and other 12.467 have commented on the post. Besides opposite opinions on the matter, some wrote offensive words.
Polemics Over A Single
Despite Coldplay’s demonstration over the subject, another reason why the band is on the spotlight is their latest single which was released today (06/03). With the name ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’, the song went up to the Twitter Trending Topics and earned a few negative reviews from the social network’s users.
Band player Chris Martin, also said on Twitter “It seems surreal that we’re going to play concerts again, because I haven’t met anyone who likes us for two years.” The tweet which is considered the most hateful regarding the new single, posted by @Its_Death, says “WARNING: I got a tweet saying if you click the link, it will play the new Coldplay single. Be careful. It WILL play the new Coldplay single.”
