Birmingham news shows desperate situation
It is not unknown that the USA is a country which goes through several weather-related disasters. The most common reason for this kind of tragedy to take place in the country is because of heavy winds that turn into tornados and devastate entire regions as they pass by. This time, the states that were harmed by the American geographical nature are Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee.
Tragic Events
The governments of the three regions have already declared state of emergency after the confirmation of deaths that were caused as a consequence of the heavy winds, rains and tornadoes. Another concern that officials have in mind is the kind of financial prejudice that the damage can cause.
Some consequences that already are a reality to the population of the regions which were affected are power-cuts, as nuclear reactors were shut down in Alabama, and floods, which damage private and public property. Even though much worse can still happen, as authorities already released that the weather is supposed to worsen, the government already has to plan how to revert this situation.
Victims Of The Disaster
In the Mississipi area, 11 deaths have been registered up to now. Among them, a 3-year-old girl was a victim of the natural disaster. The family was together at home when a tree fell upon the house and hit the girl. The surviving relatives had to be cut out of the residence and were immediately sent to non-life threatening injuries.
Still counting the number of victims, in Arkansas the government already counted up to nine deaths. Some of them are related to the floods, while others in order of a tornado. A witness of the tornado episode, Caroline Thompson, said “We all ended up in the closet. And then you could just hear crashing and stuff being knocked around and blown around. And it tore us up.”
