A character who is recently going through the experience of being under the spotlights is Benjamin Millepied. As until a few months ago no one knew exactly who he was, today it is well spread that the ballet dancer is Natalie Portman’s husband and father of her newly born baby boy. It took so long for him to be part of the news because their engagement was announced together with the pregnancy.

However sudden it might seem, a short while after confirming the news that she was waiting for a child Portman told Entertainment Weekly that “I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience.” At the time when this statement was released, Portman was still waiting for the Oscars results, which ended up earning her a best actress nomination.

The movie for which Portman won the best actress role was Black Swan, a psychological drama that involved a personal conflict with which the main character had to deal with as she incorporated the character for the ballet presentation. It was during the filming that Portman and Millepied got to meet, as he was a choreographer for the dances used during the movie.

His relationships with co-workers did not begin with Portman, as Millepied left an ex-girlfriend heartbroken once the new couple confirmed their happy plans. The ballet dancer used to go out with a ballerina from the company which he used to work for. With his ex, Millepied was just travelling around the world about one year before meeting Portman.
