With all the technological options coming out to make people’s life style more practical and virtual, Amazon is about to launch its own Appstore for Android users. This new store competes with other companies that have their own Android service, such as Google, and also with those who have Appstores.

Polemic on the new virtual store

The launching of Amazon’s Appstore is expected to be on the 22, March, over the internet. The virtual shop will also throw a coming out party to present its new product to the community. But one of Amazon’s market competitors, Apple, isn’t very pleased by the idea and file a suit against the new store.

According to Apple, the name “Appstore” was registered by them, so it can’t be used for merchandising, as Amazon did. Besides that, they plead that the slogan “AppStore for Androids” confuses their new customers. Microsoft has already asked the US Patent and Trademark Office to open the case because they consider “Appstore” too common to be patented.

Amazon’s differential

One of the advantages in buying from the Amazon Appstore on its launch day is that the shop is the first one to have the game Angry Birds Rio. For those who manage to download it today there will be no cost for the product.

Besides the game, the mechanisms Amazon thought to make its products different from what is already on the market are by selling their apps at lower prices and offer exclusive titles. To make it easier for their customers to re-download digital titles, Amazon designed their Apps with the DRM technique.
