Adam Shulman engaged to Anne Hathaway
Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway, 29, is confirmed to be engaged to Adam Shulman, 30, an actor-turned-jewelry designer, who has been her boyfriend for the last three years. Paparazzi caught the couple celebrating their engagement in Central Park and Hathaway’s rep. confirmed the information. Hathaway is mostly known for her roles in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, ‘Princess Diaries’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’, and is about to interpret Catwoman in ‘The Dark Night Rises’.
The Groom-To-Be
Even though Shulman is also considered an actor, his career is nowhere close to Hathaway’s. At first, when the couple had just started going out, some believed that Shulman was going after Hathaway’s influence and connections to earn his own jobs. Basically, Shulman’s acting career can be resumed to a ‘West Wing’ episode (2006), a stint on NBC’s ‘American Dreams’ (2005) and four years ago, a turn as Enos on the TV prequel movie ‘The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning’.
At this point, Shulman is investing on his jewelry designer career, as he has just launched a new collection entitled ‘James Banks’, considering that ‘Banks’ is his middle name. As a matter of fact, the Kwiat rock Shulman gave Hathaway as their engagement ring was designed by him.
Complicated Past
The reasons for doubting Shulman’s intentions in his relationship with Hathaway are not unreasonable when taking into consideration the actress’ romantic past. Contrary to what most women have to go through, Hathaway saw her former boyfriend being arrested on charges of 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy in a scheme involving $50 million and the Vatican.
When Hathaway hosted Saturday Night Live, she seized the opportunity to provoke and joke about the situation: “I broke up with my boyfriend, and two weeks later he was sent to prison for fraud. I mean, we’ve all been there, right, ladies?” Her journals were taken from her ex’s penthouse, but the police found no connection between the actress and her former partner’s crimes.
